How to prepare a logo or icon with transparency

  • Logo
  • Icon

Use a PNG, WebP or SVG source with transparent areas when the mark should appear without a rectangular background. JPEG cannot store transparency.

Before you start

  • Check that the checkerboard or transparent area is part of the file rather than a baked white background.

Steps

  1. Remove the background in your image or vector editor.
  2. Export the source as PNG, WebP or SVG.
  3. Upload it to Studio and choose Clear in the Background panel.
  4. Preview the asset over a contrasting temporary background to inspect its edges.
  5. Choose a transparency-capable export format for the final file.

Expected result

The mark remains separate from the canvas background and can be delivered with alpha where the selected format supports it.

Common problems

  • White rectangle remains: the source itself is opaque and must be edited before upload.
