How to choose an animation effect and change its settings

Open Motion to browse compatible animation effects, then use the controls exposed by the selected animation effect. Duration, scale and background are shared project settings; direction, intensity, depth, fragments, copies and other controls appear only when that effect supports them.

Before you start

  • Load a valid source and wait for the preview renderer.

Steps

  1. Open Motion and search or filter the available animation effects.
  2. Choose an animation effect to load its defaults and effect-specific controls.
  3. Adjust one control at a time while watching the live preview.
  4. Set the duration and source scale, then replay the complete sequence.
  5. Save the project when the motion and restart behave as intended.

Expected result

The project stores the chosen animation effect and its supported settings without altering the original saved asset.

Common problems

  • A control missing from another effect is not necessarily an error; animation effects expose different settings.
